A Panchayat is an assembly of elected representatives that administers the governance of Panchayat Raj institutions. As far as a Gram Panchayat is concerned, it is the main committee that implements the decisions of a Gram Sabha and manages day-to-day administration.The main components of a Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat. Presides over meetings and oversees the overall functioning of the Panchayat.Vice President: Assumes responsibilities in the absence of the President.Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward of the Panchayat.Standing Committees: Subcommittees formed for easier decision-making on matters such as finance, development, welfare, health, and education.
